Okay everyone, now that the holiday season is behind us it’s time to get your rotten little fingers out and grab your copy of the Katja From The Punk Band hardcover whilst you still can – orders are only open until the end of this month and once that time has passed you won’t be able to order a copy anywhere!
Remember that as well as being a beautifully-produced edition that will be extremely limited and rare it will also featured several extra goodies that will only appear in this edition and not the paperback when that is released later in the year. We’re still finalising exactly what those goodies will be but they will definitely include a brand new short story written exclusively for the hardback edition.
In addition I’m going to be running an extra special prize of a signed copy of the Russian translation of I-O. I’ll publish the full details of this unique prize over the next few days but basically anybody who pre-orders a copy of the hardcover edition will be automatically entered with a chance to win as long as we hit my own personal target of copies pre-ordered. We’re certainly on our way to that target but still need to keep pushing. That means that if you haven’t already bought your copy or if you know of anyone who would dig a copy themselves go out and grab it before the end of the month both to ensure that the target is hit and also that you will have a chance of winning the signed Russian edition.
(Don’t worry if you’ve already ordered your copy before this comp was announced, your entry will still be valid).
Katja From The Punk band was the second top-selling pre-order book in November when it was initially released on Horror Mall so let’s make it the number one selling pre-order for it’s final month of January!

Fantasy Magazine have just announced that they are running a poll for the best story they featured last year on their website and my story La Mer, republished from an earlier incarnation of the print version is in the running. And what’s even better is that there’s something in it for you!
So here’s the deal …
Head on over to the poll and vote for La Mer as the best story of the year – quick and easy! What you can also do, however, is leave a comment about the story (or for any other story on the site, for that matter – but lets not talk about them…) on their site and you will automatically be entered into a prize draw for an Amazon gift certificate! The more comments you leave the more chance you have of winning although you only get one entry per story (so if you leave several comments on La Mer you’ll only be entered once but if you leave a comment for several stories then you’ll be entered several times). Max number of entries is 10.
The comments have to be more than just a basic “great story” but beyond that feel free to write whatever you want. If you’ve not already read the story then you can check it out here first.
Now off you toddle…

Got an email from Brett Savory over at ChiZine Publications this morning asking for ideas for potential bonus material to include with the hardcover edition of Katja From The Punk Band to give those shelling out for it a little some extra.
Brett’s suggestions included some artwork, an interview or a short story but I thought I’d throw it open to you lot to see if you had any ideas or suggestions for something you’d like to see? Are author interviews of any interest? Would you prefer to hear specifically about the evolution of that novel itself or just have general chat? What about a virtual soundtrack for the book with a listing of music tracks to listen to at certain points in the book?
I don’t have a suitable story sitting by but could maybe see about getting my arse in gear and quickly writing one, as either a prologue, epilogue or even a complementary short story featuring the novel’s characters (or not..)?
So whether you’ve already pre-ordered the book or are planning on doing so, or even if you have no interest in Katja FTPB itself, what, as a reader, would you like to see as bonus content in a book?

Just heard from Brett Savory over at ChiZine Publications that they’ve struck an amazing deal with Diamond Book Distributors for both UK and US distribution of their books!
What this means is that CZP’s books will be far more readily available in both the US and the UK and this includes Katja From The Punk Band as the deal will cover existing and future releases for them.
You can find out the full deal here but it’s great news for them and in that regard for me too!
