Interested in organizing an event? Please contact us with your
event ideas.
Doing a local event for the launch of the book could help the case in
several ways. If you are going to organize something, keep the following
in
mind:
- When an event is organized in your town, the publicity generated will
raise awareness
- It will also encourage local bookstores to carry the book. If you
set up an event, the publisher can help you find a local bookstore to
come and sell copies at the event itself
- If you plan to do a fundraising event, not just a book launch, please
talk to the editors about how to ensure that the money gets to the defence
fund.
- Keep your costs low. Often when you plan your first event, there are
costs that you didn't think of, or your expected ticket sales are higher
than what comes in the door. If you know someone who coordinates the
events, get their advice. Try to get everything for free! Even if it
isn't a benefit, still try to get it for free!
