LOVE IS A DRUG.

They call it the Drift, a swirling mist of a drug custom-designed by the renegade chemist Dietrich. Each night the women are dosed with it upon their return from servicing their clients, ensuring that they will not, and cannot, leave Klaus, the pimp and drug dealer to whom they are enslaved.

But Anna Dalle, one of Dietrich's network of runners and thieves, has fallen for Lydia, one of Klaus' girls, and she will do anything to help her break free.

When she learns of the Fusion, a new technique which Dietrich is secretly developing to enable the gang's wares to be transported more securely, she sees the answer to her problem. With her bloodstream infused with the Drift she can ensure that Lydia gets her hits by feeding from Dalle - as long as the drug doesn't destabilise within her before it can be decoupled again and risk killing them both.

On the run from Klaus and rival gang members who want to unlock the secrets of the Vapours and the Fusion, the two women become chemically entwined and in the process the line between addict and drug, between desire and need, become irrevocably blurred.

lovejunky is part dystopic crime thriller, part brooding noir romance.

Current Status

lovejunky's beta draft was completed in mid-May 2011 after around nine months of work and final revision was completed in late August 2011.  So unless there are any final edits requested by Agent Allan we will start sending this puppy out to see if anyone bites!
