Dirty Bomb was originally going to be the follow-up n*vel to Pretty Little Things To Fill Up The Void, however the project is currently on-hold whilst I complete other works because I felt that it needed a rethink.
Dirty Bomb is essentially the story of the mythology of a revolution told from two sides.
Lydia is a dancer and body-for-hire trapped in a porno-enterntainment complex by an addiction to a custom-designed drug. Alex is an insomniac mechanic who works on the complex, repairing the vehicles that ferry the girls around. Together the two plan to escape the grasps of the pseudo-gangster that runs the place, Klaus.
Alex conspires with Klaus' deviant alchemist Dietrich to alter his body chemistry to allow Lydia to feed from him when they escape in order to ensure her addiction remains fulfilled without the drug itself but they are caught up in the actions of another alchemist who seeks to create a virus that can addict people to his drugs.
Meanwhile, on a island that is entirely consumed by factories and production plants and populated by effective slaves, a group of revolutionaries call upon the mythology of their long-dead leader to finally strike out against their oppressors.
As the two stories progress, they become inextricably entangled, gathering a momentum that threatens to get completely out of control - and possibly take each and every one of them down with it.
Current Status
About 100,000 words have been written with an estimated 30,000 words remaining, however I think there will need to be a serious amount of rewriting for the second draft. I've currently put it on hold until I finish up a couple of other projects (namely Guerra and Molly) but do still have a lot of energy for the story and definitely want to return to it as soon as possible.
